The nearest small local shop is in Tryndrum, 6 miles away so you may want to order online for delivery. Tesco will deliver on Mondays to Bridge of Orchy. Morrisons deliver several days a week. Slots are limited so book as soon as possible. There is a Co-op supermarket at Ballachulish beyond Glencoe and one in Killin in the opposite direction. There is a Tesco Superstore in Oban and Morrisons Superstore in Fort William.

The walk to Inveroran hotel is lovely, following the West highland way and takes an hour and a half with a bit of a climb. There is a bothy, shop and the hotel does lunch and dinner. This has a beautiful bar to have a drink and look over Glencoe (it is very close to where a scene from the film Skyfall was filmed). The is a café and a formal restaurant, the food in the café is very average but the restaurant is good.

Hiking
Literally on the door step are two munros ; Beinn Dòrain & Beinn an Dòthaidh and the cottage is literally surrounded by others and even more after a short drive. The foot of Ben Nevis can be reached by car in an hour or you can take the train to Fort William.
The West Higland Way goes past the house and this part of the walk is particularly beautiful. You can walk part of it into Tyndrum which is about 10 km or walk to Kingshouse hotel which is about 21km.

Kayaking and Canoeing
The Orchy River is at bottom of the road and there are many lochs in the local area including Loch Tulla which is accessible from the road to Inveroran.
Golf
There is a 9-hole golf courses at Dalmally www.dalmallygolfclub.co.uk and an 18 hole course at Killin www.killingolfclub.co.uk both allow non-members and clubs can be hired. While in Killin you might want to visit the Falls of Dochart just before the village or try some amazing smoked salmon at the Falls of Dochart Smokehouse Falls of Dochart Inn & Smokehouse
Skiing and mountain biking
Depending on the season skiing or mountain biking is available at the Glencoe resort, there is also sledding for children. The chair lift provides some great views of the local area. The centre is about a 25-minute drive from the cottage. Home - Glencoe Mountain Resort
Boat trips
Boat trips are available on Loch Lomond and in Oban both are great but in Oban you have the opportunity to see Whales, Porpoise, Dolphins and Seals. If you fancy being your own Captain you can hire a motor boat from Loch Goil Cruises and also hire a few fishing lines, they also have a good café. Corrour
Catch the train from the Bridge of Orchy station to Corrour, the highest mainline railway station on the UK. On the platform is the station house which does delicious food and has a bar. Lismore Island
Lismore is a small island near Oban, around a 40 minute drive from the cottage. Catch the ferry from Port Appin Port Appin - Point (Lismore) Ferry timetable | Argyll and Bute Council and then hire bikes to tour the island (Lismore Bike Hire 07376425996)
Inverary Jail
